This week has been full of challenges and breakthroughs as I continue developing my task planner app. Here’s what I’ve been working on:
AI Assistant: Basics are Live!
I’ve started integrating an AI assistant designed to help users organize their workloads and answer questions related to their tasks. Getting the basics up and running was a steep climb, with several roadblocks along the way. But progress is progress, and I’m hopeful that this week I can fine-tune the chatbot to handle modifying, adding, or updating tasks seamlessly.
Fixing Project Page Task States
One challenge I didn’t anticipate was how these changes would affect the project pages. The task states got completely broken during the updates, so my next step is to debug and modify them to work smoothly with the AI assistant.
Building in Public on X
This past week, I started posting regularly on X to document my build-in-public journey, and it’s been an incredible experience! I’ve connected with fellow builders in the productivity app space, which has been both validating and inspiring. The sense of community and shared learning has already added so much value to this process. If you like what you read here and have an X account feel free to follow my X account. You will get more frequent updates along with other thoughts and insights around design and tech.
What’s Next?
Fine-tune the AI assistant to handle dynamic task modifications.
Fix the project page task states to ensure everything flows seamlessly.
Continue sharing my journey and connecting with others in the space.
If you’ve faced similar challenges with building or AI integrations, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Let’s keep building and learning together. 🚀
I love the transparency. Thanks for sharing, John!
Interested in your build, let me know if you need someone to test it out! (I have been in UX/HCI since 1991).
